WPML Multilingual CMS Premium WordPress Plugin

Limiting a website to one language means you are leaving out visitors and possible customers from different countries. If you are using WordPress, the way to support multiple languages is with the premium WPML (WordPress Multilingual) plugin.

In this article I explain why WPML is the choice for building multilingual websites. I also show how this plugin helps you reach people, around the world. With WPML you can offer content in languages and grow your audience globally.

What is WPML?

WPML is a premium WordPress plugin that helps turn a website that uses one language into a website that uses many languages. Other plugins that do translation just use machines to translate the words. These kinds of plugins are not the same as WPML. WPML makes pages and posts, for each language. This way the website stays neat looks good. Works well.

Why WPML Is Important For International SEO

First, WPML takes SEO (Search Engine Optimization) into account, which is something other similar plugins don’t do. With WPML, when you translate your website:

1. Search engines can index every language version as a separate, standalone page.
2. WPML adds hreflang tags to your site’s code automatically. Hreflang tags (hreflang) show search engines the language of the page and the audience (by country) that the page targets.
3. You can use WPML with most of the common SEO plugins (i.e. Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress) to optimize the meta titles and descriptions of a page for each language.

Particularly for International SEO, WPML takes care of a lot of things for you.

Top WPML Features That Will Improve Your Website

WPML has a lot to offer when it comes to handling content from, around the world. These are the features that make it a great choice:

• Website Translation
WPML does more than just translate your blog posts. You can easily translate navigation menus, page builder designs, categories, tags and even the text that is built into your themes and other plugins (String Translation).
• Search Engine Friendly Links
You have control over how the links for languages appear. You can make them as sub-directories (like site.com/en) sub-domains (en.site.com) or different domains for each language (site.co.uk).
• Multilingual WooCommerce Support
If you have a store WPML allows you to translate products, categories and checkout pages with ease. Also you can add currency options that match the buyers location or language.
• Easy Translation Process
You can do the translations yourself using a simple side-by-side editor bring in your own team of translators or use automated translation from Google, DeepL and Microsoft.

Note: The AI automatic translation feature needs credits to work. We do not give any credits with this GPL version. You can use manual translation instead.
